When humankind took to the stars to search out new energy sources, rapid successes brought huge rewards in the advancement of travel, exploration and colonisation. Some thought they had taken it too far, they were right. In 2253 the human pioneers found themselves under brutal attack from the vicious alien race dubbed the Sparks. Cut off from Earth due to the destruction of their warp gate, their only route back, the intrepid explorers now must battle for their very survival, and maybe even a way home.

I have just purchased Star Assault from GAME. Game was excellent quick delivery and very competitive prices. Star Assault is a waste of money. If you have played freelancer, X3, frontier first encounters, evechron, wing commander you may be suckered in to buying this game but DONT. The control system is barely usable. The objects look like a complete rip of evechron, You start with a minimum specified space ship and only machine guns available as weapons! I don't want immediate gratification but performing the same mission again and again and again just to become first sergeant to unlock the lasers is frustrating beyond my patience to deal with. I would recommend anyone to pick up an old copy of freelancer or evechron over this any day of the week.
