Shy, retiring types might want to look away now because the cult third-person shooter Saints Row is back, packing even more murder, mayhem and cussing into the city streets of the all-new Steelport. Taking on a rival gang and its vice-like grip on the sprawling metropolis, fight your way through mad missions to become the city's new criminal kingpin in this ode to crazed, open-world gaming.

Saints Row 4 details revealed
Deep Silver, the publisher which snatched up the Saints Row series and developer Volition when THQ fell apart, has pulled back the curtain on the next instalment in the gonzo open world franchise, Saints Row 4.
Escalating things from the already bonkers Saints Row The Third, the new title finds the Saints gang literally on top of the world: their crime-spree leader has somehow been elected President of the United States of America. There's a dark cloud on the horizon, however. Aliens are invading, and they teleport the Saints to a bizarre simulation of their home city of Steelport. Your task will be to escape from this city-sized prison and defeat the extra terrestrial fiend Zinyak.
If that's not crazy enough, the game will feature alien weapons and technology, and the Saints will also find themselves blessed with superpowers. Yes, you'll be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, run faster than sports cars and use mind powers to blow enemies away. The teaser trailer shows quick glimpses of Tron-style bikes, guns that inflate people's heads and what appears to be a giant robot. There's also a pink gorilla suit because, hey, it's Saints Row.
It looks and sounds absolutely insane, and we've only got a few months to wait until it's here. Saints Row 4 is out on August 23rd for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
