Rango PlayStation 3

I played the PS3 version of this game This game is a movie tie-in so you immediately know what to expect, the same thing, copied and pasted over ten or so levels while catchphrases from the movie are spammed every 5 seconds before you get bored after half an hour and stick it on a games trade in site. But Rango is a little different in that respect, yes it is mostly the same thing through 10 levels (shoot/punch the bad guys then face a boss) but there is a stealth level that is quite a lot of fun, and a few riding/flying sections that stand out, aswell as the fact the catchphrase spamming is a lot more restrained then usual, only repeating the same phrases maybe 3 or 4 times a level. The controls are simple enough to get to grips with and shouldn't give new or seasoned gamers any problems at all, neither will the camera work, though that does have a few glitches here and there, but nothing too major Now onto the game... The first thing i should point out is this game is NOT repeat NOT the videogame of the movie, it is actually a story set within the Rango universe after the movie has ended, where Rango has become the sheriff of Mud and is dating Beans, who is once again searching for her daddy, and some mysterious green rocks are the only clue Sheriff Rango has to go on. The characters are once again voiced by the actors/actresses who voiced them in the movie rather then being cheap stand in replacements. The Bird Mariachi band are back aswell to keep the story flowing inbetween action sequences while you play, aswell as offering hints as to what's to come in the level you are playing. Though the soundtrack is somewhat lacking, with a lot of the same instrumental scores being replayed in every level. The trophies are easily achieveable for all gaming levels from novice to trophy hunter, and the hard difficulty really isn't that hard. But once you have got the unlockables and trophies there is nothing to draw you back to playing it again. Overall it is an enjoyable game that i have had fun with, it's nothing too challenging that it will annoy you, but also it's not too easy that you will get bored and think you wasted your money. Game uses a 5star rating system, but i prefer something more indepth so i give it 68%... you get what you expect but in a more polished and fun package, but as with all movie tie-in games it could be better.
