Puzzler Collection Product Details

Released on 01/08/2008

Puzzler Collection contains over 2,000 puzzles across the categories of Crosswords, Sudoku, Wordsearch and Fitword.

There are a number of game modes for your money: 'Puzzler Tournament' invites you to challenge the Puzzle Master and climb a ladder by completing several different puzzle types. Each successfully completed rung will see your rank rise. 'Quick Blast' invites you to create a daily puzzle challenge that fits into your routine. You can tell the game how much time you have to play, and you will be set a number of challenges especially picked to make the most of the available time. 'Fast And Fun' invites you to complete a series of partially completed puzzles against the clock without making an error. 'Simply Puzzle' is for when all you want to do is play at your leisure. Pick any type of puzzle and any level of difficulty. That's all there is to it.

On completion of the Crossword and Fitword puzzles, you are given a chance to try and solve a 'Spellout' for additional points. The 'Spellout' is basically an anagram for the solving. A small bonus, but a welcome one.

Puzzler Collection
I love this game! It keeps me occupied for hours and is really brilliant for long journeys! I think the graphics are quite good (although many people think them bad) as they are clear and work well with the design, using good choice of colours. Loads of people have complained about the numbers on the sudoko being grey on a grey background, but this does not bother me as you can see them as clear as black on white so the other people must be blind or something. The music is good and does its job and I especially love hearing the little noises you get when highlighting a word on wordsearch or inputing letters etc. There are loads of puzzles to complete that all give a good challenge to the player. The only real problem with game is that it does feel quite rushed at times, as if they had had the idea of it and then given themselves only a week to design and make it. You have to really 'slam' down the stylus onto the screen for it to be recognised wich is annoying but does not stop me play

I really enjoy doing Crosswords/Fitwords etc but lugging a magazine around and trying to fill it in while on long journeys is extremely annoying. I bought Puzzler Collection and can honestly say it's the best Puzzle game I've founf on the DS. There are plenty of puzzles to choose from and you can do a puzzle at randon or enter into a tournament. There are puzzles for all levels, from beginners to the more challenging. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys puzzles and is not fussed when it comes to graphics, great interfaces etc. It is very straight forward and great for all ages (I'm 28). The price is also a big selling point too.

Puzzler Collection
Positives: a good mix of puzzles at different levels, especially when you participate in the tournament; convenient for taking on long journeys and entertaining when you are waiting for a bus or train etc. Negative: a wider choice of puzzles could be included... Bring on Puzzler Collection 2 please! Also, it would be really cool if you could create your own puzzles, then get other users to try them!

Good game. Perfect for train journeys. Playing for several hours at a time would get a little boring as there are only a choice of 4 types of game (sudoku, wordsearch, crossword and fitword) but I found the Quick Blast the perfect way to fill a 20-25 mins slot whether it was waiting for my tea to cook, journey home from work or before I went to bed. The Quick Blast can be tailored to your chosen length of time, favourite puzzle types and difficulty level. Even though I have played for a combined gametime of about 12-15 hours I have only had 1 game repeat.Perfect for puzzle fans who don't want to carry around their Puzzler magazine or want to feel more hi-tech.

Have got both the wii and ds version, the ds version is better because of the control problems in the wii version.
