Wee guessing your 3DS is getting a lot of love at the moment, but don forget that it still plays DS games and don forget that there are still great DS games being released, too. The latest title wee excited about is Plants vs Zombies, and it will be sprouting on these shores on 6th May.
Why should you be excited? Here why: Plants vs Zombies is the latest, greatest smash hit from casual games geniuses PopCap, who you may know from PC classics like Peggle and the Bejeweled series. The latest game pits you and your plants against waves of cartoony undead in a brilliant spin on the tower defence genre. Plant pea-shooters, potato mines, and a variety of toxic mushrooms in a bid to keep the zombies from eating your brain. It has beautiful hand-drawn art, devious challenges, and a wonderful musical score.
And on the DS it has 14 brand new in-game achievements, multiplayer content, and four new mini-games. There simply never been a better time to get on this particular train. We can wait.
Plants vs Zombies is also available for the PC and Mac.

Board game company USAopoly has reached out across the digital divide and will be bringing some of our fave video game properties to the world of dice and plastic pieces.
Among the upcoming titles are Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft, Monopoly: Skylanders and Risk: Plants vs Zombies. The most promising of the bunch would seem to be a "Galaxy at War Edition." of Risk: Mass Effect. For old school retroheads, there'll also be Yahtzee: Pac-Man and Jenga Space Invaders.
This isn't the first time USAopoly has dipped into the digital realm for variations on beloved games. You can already get Risk: Halo and Risk: Starcraft, not to mention Monopoly: Sonic the Hedgehog. The new games will be launched in America later this year before hopefully making their way around the world.
What do you think? Would you switch off your console to play Mass Effect around the kitchen table?
