Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon takes place in a fictional, demon-ridden Western European city towards the end of the 19th century. The story focuses on a knight protector named Alushe and her two childhood friends – Liliana, a kind-hearted priestess, and Ruhenheid, a holy knight of the Lourdes Order.

While guarding Liliana, Alushe is ambushed and killed only to later awaken as an artificial half-demon at the hands of the New Curia, a religious organisation with dark ties. In the company of a variety of unlikely allies with their own pasts and agendas, Alushe’s strong desire to save Liliana gives her the strength to scatter the shadows shrouding the world and motivation to uncover the shocking truth behind the mysterious Queen of the Moon.

On their perilous quest, Aluche and Ruenheid are assisted by a unique bouquet of allies including the mysterious New Curian doctor Camilla Alucard, Aluche’s role model and ex-Curian Knight, Muveil Folin Lou, a half-demon assassin, Veruschka, and the powerful Nightlord, Arnice. Fighting alongside these ‘Lilies’ sows the seeds of unlikely friendships that blossom into unbreakable bonds and awaken impressive latent abilities for all characters.

In Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, players will encounter a malevolent of unique and dastardly fiends and will have to rely on their close bonds with their companions to emerge victorious. The battle party will always be comprised by Aluche, the player character, an NPC of her choice, and up to two Servans. Each team member can bring a unique selection of skills to the equation, ranging from different fighting styles and weapons to the beautiful Lily Burst, a power that combines the extraordinary abilities of Aluche and her humanoid companion into one devastating blow.

Introduction

Nights of Azure was an experience with characters, a world view, and partner based action unlike any Gust game before it. Continuing its legacy is Nights of Azure 2, a game with beautiful maidens at its center. The beautiful Lilies, the heroines of this tale, take center stage, working alongside the main character in battle and in the story. The dark setting that was highly praised in the first game is in full force here, with the Lilies shining radiantly as the main characters partners.

Story

Long ago, the great battle against the monstrous Nightlord left a lasting effect on the world. Foul creatures, known as Fiends, surfaced during the night, leaving humans with only the light of the sun as their ally. An agent of the Curia, Aluche, is given orders to guard her close friend and now-priestess, Liliana.


After fighting fierce battle after battle, the two eventually find their way to the Curia, only to discover a cruel truth. Liliana had been chosen to be the next sacrifice, the Bride of Time, one fated to be offered up to the Moon Queen. Filled with despair and shock, Aluche begins to carry out her mission of escorting Liliana to the Moon Queen’s location but on the way, they’re attacked by a fierce fiend, and Aluche dies in battle.


When next she wakes, she discovers that she has been brought back from the dead as an artificial half-demon. The newly revived Aluche makes her way there in hopes of saving her friend, an unwanted, dark power lurking within her body.

Gameplay

As Aluche and her battle party set off on their journey to defeat the Moon Queen, they will encounter a variety of devious and dastardly demons; some of which mean to bring them harm and others which wish to join them on their quest. The mighty Striker type Servans are invaluable assets to any battle party, transforming from their demonic forms to powerful weapons which Aluche can wield in battle. Controlling the Striker type opens up a plethora of abilities to aid in combat situations, improving Aluches skills in either long range or close combat depending on which particular Servan she relies upon.


Making the most of the eccentric cast of human and demonic companions is incredibly important in securing victory, and players will be able to choose their dream battle party to give them a selection of unique abilities. When requirements in battle are met this attack can quickly change the tide of the fight, causing overwhelming damage to anyone in its path.
