Barcelona Airport, commonly known as El Prat Airport, is located 10km (6.2miles) south west of Barcelona, lying in the municipalities of El Prat de Llobregat, Viladecans and Sant Boi. The airport is the second largest in Spain, behind Madrid Barahas Airport, and the first in Catalonia. The new terminal, T1, was inaugurated in June 2009.
