Released on 30/06/2005

Based on the highly anticipated animated feature film from DreamWorks, MadagascarTM is the only game that lets players enter the world of four hilarious Central Park Zoo animals—a personality-packed crew made up of a lion, zebra, giraffe and hippo. Players must master each animal's natural skills while adventuring through the exciting city of New York and the dangerous island of Madagascar, interacting with other animals and tackling obstacles and enemies in scenarios from the movie and beyond.

Features:

  • The Only Game that Lets Players Relive the Film and Beyond — Fighting for survival has never been this much fun. Players control one of four main characters from the movie – Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and Melman the giraffe as they overcome obstacles, interact with film and game-exclusive characters, and face off against enemies.
  • Get Your Groove on as You Go — Players develop new skills as they take the role of each zoo animal, helping Alex maximize the power of his claws, roar and pounce; pumping up Marty's jump, back kick and stealth crawl; learning Gloria's butt smash and running barrel move; and perfecting Melman's helicopter spin and ammo-throwing neck fling, which he uses to launch coconuts and lemurs.
  • Rock the city and rule the jungle — Players test their animal abilities as they explore a variety of diverse environments in mini-games and 11 action-packed chapters, including Marty's Escape from the Central Park Zoo, Penguin Mutiny on board a giant cargo ship, and Lemur Rave with the exotic animals in the jungles of Madagascar.
  • The Fun is Never Done — Players can improve their performance as they replay chapters and unlock character-specific bonuses and cheats.
  • D3Publisher has struck a deal with DreamWorks Animation to bring the new movie tie-in Madagascar 3: The Video Game to consoles this June.

The game has been pencilled in for release alongside the new movie Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and will see Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo returning for an adventure across Europe.

Gamers will be able to relive the story of the new film, which sees the animals escaping the clutches of a crazy animal control officer as they seek to return to their New York home.

D3Publisher will also be teaming up with DreamWorks to create games based on its next blockbuster films, with Rise of the Guardians coming this Christmas and The Croods scheduled for next year.

Bill Anker, vice president of business development and licensing at D3Publisher, said: "We look forward to working closely with the DreamWorks Animation team to deliver an authentic and compelling gameplay experience that will take the adventures in exciting new directions."

DreamWorks' most recent movie Puss in Boots also received an action-packed videogame spinoff, which was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Nintendo DS in December.

Madagascar
I thought this game was really good. My 4 year old son really enjoyed playing it, especially as each animal has his own individual skills. I agree with other reviews that older children probably would find it quite easy, however getting every coin in every level I still think is quite hard for children under 10 years.I would definately recommend.
Madagascar
I quite liked this game, the story line is good and visually it looks good too. you play as the animals from the movie (which each have their own special skill) and collect coins, save the lemers, swim, fight etc. and you sometimes get to play a mini game between levels aswell (which are okaoverall a good game, but it is a little easy, so best for younger people or those who don`t like anything too hard

Madagascar
This game is suitable for young children and does resemble a little of the film but I finished the game within a couple of hours. Its just too easy and therefore I wouldn't recomend this game

Madagascar
I personally wouldn't reccomend this game as its very easy and not that amazine however for the younger gamer this might be one of the best games for them. If older than 10 , don't buy but if younger highly reccomended
