LEGO City: Undercover with Chase McCain Minifigure Product Details

Released on 28-Mar-2013

The Chase is On!

Take to the streets of LEGO City in the all-new crime caper LEGO City Undercover for Wii U.

LEGO City Undercover sees you take the role of Chase McCain, an undercover detective armed with a range of clever disguises and other cool-crime fighting skills. Your mission – to end the fiendish crime wave led by the dastardly Rex Fury.

Key Features of LEGO City Undercover for Nintendo Wii U:

  • Go undercover with Chase and his many disguises
  • Take down criminals with Chase's unique skills
  • Travel around LEGO City in a variety of vehicles
  • See the LEGO City toys brought to life like only LEGO can
  • The Wii U Game Pad becomes your key crime fighting tool

Chase McCain is the best undercover cop in LEGO City, and LEGO City Undercover lets you make full use of his many disguises, including everything from a fireman, to a construction worker, to a robber. Each disguise comes with its own set of skills and abilities which you can use to solve puzzles and access areas of the city – while dressed as a robber, you can use your crowbar to pry open doors, and while dressed as a miner you have dynamite to use!

But Chase has other skills at his disposal, too. Take down criminals using close-quarters hand-to-hand combat, complete with fast and fluid action that ends with a pair of handcuffs being slapped on the bad guy – who'll then explode into a shower of LEGO studs!

Chase also uses cool parkour skills to make his way around the city, running and jumping up and around walls and swinging across poles. LEGO City Undercover also boasts over 100 vehicles to collect and use to explore the city, including cars, motorcycles and aircraft.

It's not just vehicles – LEGO City Undercover boast a massive open-world city to explore, bringing your favourite LEGO City toys and playsets to life. The city is also filled with fully voiced characters and ambient crowds, and because this is a LEGO video game, you can expect the action to be delivered with a huge dollop of humour.

Exclusively for Nintendo Wii U, LEGO City Undercover arms you with the best police gadget you could ever need – the Wii U Game Pad. Seamlessly woven into your gameplay, you can use the Game Pad as a scanner to find hidden clues and criminals and as a map and GPS system when driving around the city. Plus it's your direct link to police dispatch, receiving mission updates and other important information. You won't fight crime without it!

Check that you have enough space on your Nintendo Wii U to download and install this title.

  • The LEGO series of games has shifted millions of copies and won over kids and parents alike. Now it's stepping up a gear with the imminent release of Wii U exclusive LEGO City Undercover. Taking the role of top cop Chase McCain, you'll roam the open world of LEGO City, using the game pad to aid you in your detective work.

You'll also hear a few familiar voices as you explore, as cult British comedians Adam Buxton and Peter Serafinowicz are among the cast. Buxton plays a salty sea captain who keeps popping up during your adventure, while Serafinowicz voices a snooty British billionaire. American impressionist Josh Robert Thompson, best known over here for his "More Than Freeman" TV commercials, will also be on hand to send up a few celebrities along the way.

The game's comedy pedigree comes in part thanks to lead writer Graham Goring, who as well as a career in game design spent three and a half years as a standup comic.

LEGO City Undercover is due out on March 28th exclusively for Wii U. A prequel game, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, will follow for the 3DS.

  • Wii U owners should need little encouragement to pick up LEGO City Undercover, the open world romp from TT Games that's best described as a kid-friendly version of Grand Theft Auto without all the naughty bits, but just in case you were still on the fence, here's some news that might make up your mind.

As well as the standard edition of the game, you'll be able to pick up a special version which comes with a free minifigure of the game's hero, Chase McCain. Who he? He's the multi-talented cop and all-round good guy that players will control as he roams LEGO City trying to foil the fiendish plots of the villainous Rex Fury. Chase McCain won't be available anywhere else, making him a bit of a collector's item.

LEGO City Undercover is a Wii U exclusive, and uses the consoles swanky second screen for a variety of cool gameplay features. The Game Pad screen will double as a communicator, a scanner and a GPS depending on what Chase is doing on the TV.

LEGO City Undercover is due on 28th March. A spin-off, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, will be out on 3DS later this year.

  • Don disguises in LEGO City Undercover for Wii U at GAME

    Undercover Cop

Coming to Wii U, the most ambitious entry yet in the multi-million selling LEGO game series sees players taking on the role of Chase McCain, an undercover detective on a mission to apprehend the evil Rex Fury and end his crime wave in LEGO City.

Featuring an open-world design that owes a lot to Grand Theft Auto and fully voiced characters that help bring LEGO City Undercover to life, the game arms players with plenty of ways of getting around, a variety of disguises, and a number of close quarters moves with which to apprehend plastic villains.

Chase is a highly mobile hero who's able to parkour his way around the city to catch up with targets. It might not match Assassin's Creed's free running, but he can pull off numerous wall runs and swings which look great in motion. There will also be over 100 vehicles for players to use to explore the city looking for clues to bring bad guys to justice, from sports cars to motorbikes and even aircraft.

Chase will have access to multiple disguises, including firefighter and construction worker outfits, to aid him in his war on mini-figures in stripy shirts. Each of these will give players extra abilities, the most exciting of which we've seen is a thief disguise enabling him to break and enter to reach new areas.

Open world crime caper LEGO City Undercover for Wii U at GAME

    Family-Friendly Crime Caper

The game is billed as a cute police drama suitable for young players and as yet we've seen no evidence of any gunplay, although chase does use a number of close quarters moves to take down targets. The action feels fluid and satisfying as he chases down perps, tackles them and in a single motion whacks on a pair of handcuffs, which results in the lawbreaker bursting into a shower of LEGO studs.

LEGO City Undercover utilises the Wii U's Game Pad controller as a new interactive police gadget. Seamlessly woven into the gameplay experience, it acts as a real-time GPS map, so players can literally hold up the tablet to scan the city for clues and criminals. It also serves as a direct link to police dispatch, allowing players to receive mission updates and other important information.

Unlike previous LEGO games, this open-world crime caper isn't based on popular licenses like Batman, Star Wars or Indiana Jones, tie-ins which offered instant context to their charming humour and gameplay. This could be viewed as a hurdle to overcome, but it certainly allows developer TT Fusion more creative freedom, and early viewings of the game have left us really excited about the prospect of an original adventure in LEGO City.

Best Game for Wii U so far...
I traded ZombiU in for this and it was well worth it considering I've had it for two days and have already spent 10 hours on it... So addictive and fun for both kids AND adults. Hilarious game, 5 stars for me! Can't wait to buy the 3DS version soon.

Lego in the big city
This game is the bomb, it plays exactly like all other lego games...you jump, smash and horde studs. Extremely big game area to run around and very funny...ripping on every cliched cop series ever created (probably not every, but close). It's as close to Lego: GTA as you're going to get.

Total and utter devastation
This could of been the best Lego game possibly even the best game to ever be made but they made it 1 player, after opening the game which I Pre-ordered before Christmas I am sitting here in shock and I cannot put into words how upset I am. I have played every Lego game that has come out and I can't figure out why they would do this. Why why why? people have always complained about Nintendo now I am joining the masses. The game looks incredible but I don't enjoy playing alone at all.

Stunning to say the least
After lego star wars and loving that and many other lego games wasn't sure what to expect from this the first wii u lego game. Well totally blown away! This platform is massive, huge the biggest play area I have ever seen. This will keep my son amused for not day's but weeks. Some simple stunning ideas on here and you never know what is round the corner. It's not to simple and not to difficult for the kids. As the said in my local Game store in Crewe the best game yet for the wii u they were spot on!
