  • When Kinect was launched with titles such as Kinect Adventures and Kinect Joyride, some thought Microsoft's new motion control technology had abandoned the hardcore gamer, but all along the developers were thinking about you.

There are two types of Kinect games. Some can only use Kinect to work, they are controlled purely by it's motion control and voice recognition interface, and can't use a controller. There are other Xbox 360 games that can use Kinect to enhance the game-play with the additional features that Kinect offers.

Below we have a selection of games that are compatible with Kinect and are excellent examples of how Kinect can improve the world for the Core gamer.

Disneyland in your lounge
Having been to disneyland, we were sceptical that this game would work. However, we have been more than pleasantly surprised by this true adventure in disneyland. Our Daughters have that wonderful magical look in their eyes and the smile of a cheshire cat when they meet characters and accept their challenges. The park is beautifully recreated and the games are fun for the entire family. It's like visiting the park all over again and again and again and again . . . Moving around the park is a little awkward at first but you soon get the hang of the control system. This is a massive hit with our Daughters and we are sure it will be a hit with most families looking for interactive disney fun. That is exactly what you get, fun, fun and more fun, oh and not forgetting the free 160 microsoft points we got inside the game. You will find the code on the back of the Kinect booklet inside the game. Enjoy, we are!

Disneyland for real lol
my son loves this game it's like he is actually there, his arms do eventually get tired but he lover talking to the characters and doing the tasks, the kinect sensor does however keep losing him and he keeps changing to another person on the screen which frustrates him.

Easiest way to go to Disneyland
It's like a dream, you turn the XBox on and you're in Disneyland interacting with Mickey. I got it for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it. There are plenty of activities, for boys and girls, with several different Disney characters. Some of the activities are more active than others, though. The Kinect sensor integration, though, could be better. Dance Central, for instance, does much better body tracking. It is very sensitive and looses track of the players several times during the game and it could be sometimes hard to reconnect. My daughter gets upset because she usually disconnects and has a hard time trying to reconnect again. That's the only reason why I gave 3 stars.

Disneyland fun
Having been to Disneyland, we bought this as a reminder of the park and the game does a great job of bringing back those memories, unfortunatly once you have had your trip down memory lane you have yet again another middle of the road kinetic game, even moving around the park becomes hard work, as continualy holding out your arm to move becomes difficult for a seven year old after 15/20 mins. the sub games vary in quality and the kinetic seems to work well in most, but like most kinetic titles so far the controls are far from perfect. all in all one of the better kinect titles out there.
