Rockstar is to release a soundtrack compilation of music from Grand Theft Auto 5 that will span three CDs or six vinyl LPs.

As reported by music site Pitchfork, the box set will contain all the original music from the game, all the songs created exclusively for the game and other highlights from the game's soundtrack. That means all new tracks from A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Twin Shadow, Wavves, Flying Lotus, and Yeasayer, as well as original score compositions by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, the Alchemist, and Oh No, mixed by DJ Shadow.

The vinyl release comes with a colour booklet and lithograph poster, and the records themselves are in a range of delightful pastel hues. The CD version throws in a USB stick shaped like a gold bar for good measure. Only 5000 copies will be made available however, and will be on sale from 9 December.

Fans of the sounds of Los Santos will be pleased to hear that not only does the imminent PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto 5 add more gameplay and activities, it also expands the soundtrack. The radio station playlists have been extended, and the celebrity DJs have been back in the booth recording additional dialogue to play between tracks.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from 18 November, and comes to PC on 27 January. It's already out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, of course.
