Goldeneye Product Details

Designed exclusively for Wii, GoldenEye 007 allows players to channel Daniel Craig's lethal and gritty James Bond in an innovative, modern take on the legendary Bond adventure, GoldenEye. Blending fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) action with covert gameplay, GoldenEye 007 epitomizes the modern "thinking man's shooter" by offering varied ways to complete each mission, destructible environments, the use of cover and multiple control scheme options, including the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, Classic Controller Pro and the Wii Zapper. GoldenEye 007 redefines the multiplayer experience on Wii with unprecedented split-screen action featuring classic Bond characters and special game modes, as well as online play for up eight friends.

Features:

  • Wii Exclusive - The original GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64TM redefined the FPS genre, making it a best-selling title on one of the most popular platforms. As a Wii exclusive, the new GoldenEye 007 gaming experience will reflect modern technology advancements, while channeling nostalgia for fans of the franchise.
  • Split-Screen Multiplayer / Classic Bond Characters - GoldenEye 007 features an unprecedented lineup of four-player split-screen MP options, including 40 total characters, 8 classic Bond characters, 5 maps, 3 standard modes and 16 special modifiers that allow gamers to create over 500 different game combinations. GoldenEye 007 also features online multiplayer for up to 8 players designed for seasoned FPS online gamers with unique modes and a robust XP system for unlockables and achievements.
  • Choose the Way you Play - In addition to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, GoldenEye 007 also supports the Classic Controller Pro for gamers who want to play with standard FPS controls and the Wii Zapper for "point and shoot" gamers; players will have several control scheme options, allowing them to experience GoldenEye on Wii any way they want.
  • Superannuation, everybody favourite internet sleuth, has been at it again. This time, according to a report on Eurogamer, the mysterious hero has been digging up domain name registrations that suggest Activision is working on something called GoldenEye Reloaded.

Iiiinteresting. Wee going to go out on a limb here, and say it Bond related, but what could it be? The domains registered so far include the likes of Goldeneye007gamereloaded.com, so wee guessing this is going to end up on a game disk at some point in the not too distant future.

Top guesses so far suggest that the publisher might be putting together an HD updating of last year brilliant GoldenEye remake for the Wii. The game was built by Eurocom, and provided some of the best Bond blasting action wee seen in years.

So will the game be headed to the 3DS perhaps? Or maybe HD consoles? We wouldn rule out a Move or Kinect release for this one.

Activision recently announced it would be making another Bond game this year, and wee heard rumours that Raven Software will be working on it. Is this the same project, or is it something new? It would probably take a secret agent to find out.

007: Goldeneye
This is exactly what a remake should be like. It's familiar, you are reminded of the past and yet the product is new and plays to new rules in a new era. The truth is, if you liked the original you already have it somewhere. This remake is immediately the best FPS on Nintendo's under served system. The graphics are at times spectacular (sneaking in the snow, the dance hall of a nightclub and the late jungle level particularly impress) and at other times...well, top end "for a Wii game." Multiplayer is possibly a little limited by modern standards but deliberately so to sing to the old school hardcore. After taking a moment to understand the intentions, multi is going to bring you back and back and back. Highly recommended. Add another star to the score if you like Bond movies.

007: Goldeneye
This game is absolutely amazing, everything about it is great. I haven't played the original but if this is anything to go by I'd love to play it. The story mode is great, even if it is a tad short, but what they do pack into it is great fun. The whole story modernised with Daniel Craig is great and it works really well. The local multiplayer is great fun for settling old scores with family and friends, and Oddjob's hat is a much better replacement for a grenade! The online multiplayer is absolutely amazing, with all the different game modes providing different gaming opportunities all the time. 10/10

An incredible re imagining of a classic Bond flick, easily surpassing many Xbox and PS3 titles, in both gameplay, and imaginative controls, and special equipment ie Bond's Smart Phone. This is not just a great Wii shooter, its a great shooter period, and I cannot recommend it more; if you have a Wii; BUY THIS NOW !!!
