Test Drive Unlimited 2 - Review

This sequel has the whole Hawaiian island of Oahu - all 1500 square kilometres of it - that featured in the first game. But you start out on the notorious party paradise of Ibiza, an entire second island that's a bit more compact but just as scenic, with the same wonderful combination of city streets, freeways, coastal highways and twisting mountain lanes. It's two drivers' paradises for the price of one, then, and once again you get to spend your time there playing through a huge single-player racing campaign, buying clothes and houses for your avatar, nosing around luxury cars in dealerships, racing and socialising with other players or just exploring and enjoying the open road.

    Defiance - Review

It's an ambitious game, more shooter than role-player but no less impressive for the sheer scale of the experience on platforms that have previously made do with small gameplay lobbies

    Assassin's Creed Revelations - Review

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the third and final chapter in the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who started off as an impulsive ladies man but has now matured to become a master assassin. In Revelations he's much older, wiser, and unfortunately plagued by his past.

    Rayman Origins - Review

While today the first-person shooter rules supreme in videogames, once upon a time the platform game was king. Mario and Sonic may have been poster boys for this style of play, but behind them an entire cast of less well-known characters jostled for position in the hearts and minds of gamers - slowly slipping from fashion and relevance as their chosen genre did the same. Rayman, created by Frenchman Michael Ancel, has been luckier than most in this respect, keeping a toe in the public limelight...

    R.U.S.E - Review

From the outside, R.U.S.E. may look like just another World War II strategy game. You harvest resources from nearby supply depots, build up your base, create armies of troops, tanks and aircraft, and march them off to do battle. The truth is, it's anything but.

Star Wars: The Old Republic - Review

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a monster of a game. Developed by BioWare, creator of the popular Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, as well as the excellent Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the studio's first massively multiplayer online title is rumoured to have been the most expensive game ever created - and it shows.

    The Witcher 2 - Review

An RPG's first town can almost always tell you everything you need to know about the game. That's certainly true here- the first quest hub of The Witcher 2, the sordid, secretive swamp town of Flotsam, is a showcase of everything you should play this game for...

    Brink - Review

Into the FPS market leaps Brink, a squad-based shooter in which a team of 8 players attempt to complete staggered objectives while an opposing team works to stop them. It's an entirely different sort of co-operative experience - a kind of Capture-The-Flag mode evolved into a full game.

    Bioshock 2 - Review

The setting is an underwater city called Rapture that was once filled with lots of cutting edge science, but has now turned into a ruined city where people fight over a gene-enhancing drug called ADAM, that ends up making you go a bit loopy.

    FIFA 12 - Review

FIFA played the underdog to rival football series Pro Evolution Soccer for a long time, but in the last few years it has widely come to be regarded as the pace-setter in the genre. FIFA rose to the top of the league by subtly tweaking its game to closer resemble the way PES 'did' football, while layering its own mix of official licences and some excellent gameplay innovations over the top to create a match winner.
