Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD coming to PS4

Final Fantasy X/X2 on Playstation 3 at GAME.co.uk

Sumptuous Japanese RPG makeover compilation Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remastered will launch for PlayStation 4, Square Enix has confirmed.

The two game bundle features both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, arguably the best looking PS2 games in the evergreen franchise, remade and remastered. Originally released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita earlier this year, the compilation not only features spruced up visuals but also rearranged versions of the game's sixty-track soundtrack and gameplay features from the International versions of the games. That means extra optional bosses, more mini-games and the Creature Creator system that allows you to catch and train NPCs and monsters to fight for you, Pokemon-style.

It's unclear what further improvements will be made for the PlayStation 4 version, but Square Enix has confirmed that it will get a physical disc release in Spring 2015 and will retail in the UK for a generous RRP of £34.99. Not bad for two enormous games.

In related news, Square also confirmed that the 1997 classic Final Fantasy VII, one of the greatest role-playing games of all time and the title that made Final Fantasy a hit in the west, will also be available as a download via PlayStation Network priced at £12.99.
