Deus Ex Product Details

Released on TBD

It's the new millennium. Civilization is near collapse and the world economy is in chaos. Deadly viruses ravage the earth, terrorism runs rampant. From this maelstrom of violence, an ancient conspiracy bent on world domination emerges from the shadows of legend. No one believes they exist. No one but you.

As an anti-terrorist agent you must travel the globe, develop your skills and build a network of allies to counteract the evolving threat. Employ stealth,

strategy or action where appropriate in each mission.

Question Everything.  Trust No One.

Features:

Real role-playing from an immersive 3D, first-person perspective. The game includes action, character interaction and problem solving.

Realistic, recognizable locations. Many of the locations are built from actual blueprints of real places set in a near future scenario.

A game filled with people rather than monsters. This creates empathy with the game characters and enhances the realism of the game world.

Rich character development systems: Skills, augmentations, weapon and item selections and multiple solutions to problems ensure that no two players will end the game with similar characters.

Multiple solutions to problems and character development choices ensure a varied game experience. Talk, fight or use skills to get past obstacles as the game adapts itself to your style of play.

Strong storyline: Built on -real- conspiracy theories, current events and expected advancements in technology. If it's in the game, someone, somewhere

believes it.

This game is the reason I got into PC Gaming
When this game was released back in 2000, the RPS (Role Playing Shooter) genre was in it's infancy. This game was brought to you by some of the brilliant minds that also brought you the System Shock games (of which Bioshock was a supposed 'spiritual successor' to). Deus Ex offered you mind blowing choice long before nearly every other FPS available. The game was crafted around a player approach system; you play this game the way you want to without feeling like these choices are even present. The games subtle but extremely varied approach to each given objective allows for some of the most immersive gameplay I have ever experienced. The game's soundtrack is the audio essence of Cyberpunk, and deepens the sense immsersion as you rapidly become embroiled in a world-wide conspiracy of which you become one of the pivotal roles. After loosing count of the number of times I have completed this game, I can still play through again and find something I had previously missed. The map areas are large but not so big you get lost in, the routes you can take are numerous but not obvious (allowing for great satisfaction when you find a hidden route), the voice acting is on par with AAA blockbusters, the RPG system is rock solid and encourages and rewards exploration, the locations take you all over the globe as each area sucks you deeper into the conspiring storyline, the story itself is brilliantly written, extremely engrossing and even tangible as the games 'near future' setting puts you in the middle of what may eventually happen in our own future. After a decade since its release, Deus Ex remains a pillar in the gaming world. It's formula often iterated but rarely imitated.
