Gaming for all the family!
I love this game! I had the first one for he WII and took a shine to it instantly! And when i heared that they were bringing out a second one... well, I was delighted! The main plot is to, really, play as a blob (obviously)and colour the grey world around you. Recommend it to ANYONE!!!

A great game for all ages.
It was the simple charm of the front cover that first tempted me to buy this game, in a world of drab grey and brown covers this bright promise was enough to make me want it. Fortunately, there is more good things to say about this game then simply it's cover. The premise is simple enough, you are a blob 'De blob', if you will and you absorb any colour you roll over. It's your job to try and restore colour to the world as evil comrade black sucks it all out. The gameplay is solid, the learning curve is steady, slowly introducing enemies that require more thought and less bashing. The levels are unique in design and it's very satisfying to return colour and beauty to the world around you. Perhaps one of the only downers of the game is the fact that levels are timed, once you've completed the plot of the level you're free to roam and paint and find collectables for as long as you want, but the first portion of each level is timed. It's not particuarly restrictive and as long as you don't make many mistakes you may not even notice it, but to smaller children or those unfamiliar with games the time running out can be very frustrating. All in all, a fantastic game at a fantastic price, must have for anyone that appreciates a light hearted, colourful piece of entertainment.

A fantastic game that shines for it's simplicity and uniq…
De Blob on the Wii was fantastic, blending a whimsically charming environment, delightful soundtrack and some absolutely bonkers gameplay into one truly excellent platformer. It did however have a number of flaws ranging from a some irritating control scheme to some mind numbing repetition. The multi-platform bound sequel however sees to keep everything that was great about the original and attempts to fix all the flaws, some more successfully than others. De Blob 2 runs at a lovely 1080p, 60fps and in stereoscopic 3D on the 360, and further benefits from a revamped control scheme. Jumping and targeting are now more pulled off with simple button presses, and wall movement is much, much easier as a result. While the game is still repetitive simply by nature, the new 2D sections and varying level gimmicks help to keep the experience fresh, while the added co-op mode (which is very similar to that seen in the Mario Galaxy series) enables you to play with a friend for a more enjoyable multiplayer experience than the original battle modes. On the down side though, the game still spoon-feeds you missions and hints and has a very forgiving damage system, almost making it TOO easy. The repetition can also lead to the game becoming tiresome when played for any more more than short bursts, though the new save system allows players to drop in and out whenever they please without losing any progress. Ultimately De Blob 2 is a fantastic platformer, something sorely lacking in the market right now, and a welcome addition to any 360 (or PS3) collection that could do with something a little different. It's not perfect, but it is absolutely fantastic.

Lacks longevity
Having never played the first game I came into deBlob 2 with no idea what to expect, and initially the concept of the game intrigued me. Despite featuring precious little story, I thought the title was polished, looked colourful and had real personality. However, after playing the game for a week or so my first impressions turned out to be flawed. Jumping around the game world and splashing colour over objects is fun for a few hours, but when you see the same shade of red being sprayed onto the same looking wall for the eight millionth time, it starts to feel pretty repetitive. On top of that, I was very disappointed with combat in deBlob 2. I realise this isn't a tightly-programmed FPS, but the enemies that faced me were completely dumb and were laughably easy to beat. On the plus side though, collecting items from the game world is fun, and the 2D sidescrolling levels which the game introduces are among its standout moments. Overall, I enjoyed deBlob 2 and found it interesting, but I was disappointed how quickly the thrill of painting things wore off. I had a blast playing the game for the week I did, but nothing has made me return to the experience again. With that said though, I would still say I'm looking forward to a deBlob 3.
