Cars 2 lets you jump right into the Cars universe with a brand new international spy theme.Cars 2 will feature an array of beloved Cars characters competing in action-packed spy adventures, as well as world-class racing all inspired by the upcoming Disney•Pixar animated film.

Cars 2 introduces the international training center for CHROME (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage), where you'll choose from one of 25 different characters such as Mater, Lightning McQueen and the newly introduced Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell and train to become world class spies. As part of their international training, they will participate in simulated hazardous missions using high-tech gadgets to evade and slow down adversaries.

    Disney Interactive Studios has expressed its delight at the level of critical acclaim afforded to its recent movie tie-in Cars 2: The Video Game.

    As the publisher prepares to launch the Nintendo 3DS edition of the action racing game, it has expressed pride at the success enjoyed by the Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS versions, which were released in June 2011.

    Created by Avalanche Studios, which also made last year's well-regarded Toy Story 3: The Video Game, the title recreates the excitement of Pixar's latest movie with impressive visuals, multiplayer action and gameplay that combines racing with high-octane spy adventures.

    The game has received glowing reviews from the likes of IGN, the Sunday Mirror and Toxic.

    John Blackburn, vice president and general manager of Avalanche Software, said: 'It's very rewarding to see how members of the media have jumped behind the wheel to become agents of CHROME in support of Cars 2: The Video Game.'

    The Nintendo 3DS version of Cars 2 is coming this Christmas and features glasses-free 3D visuals, StreetPass communication options and more.

Cars 2 is one of those rare games that whilst aimed mostly at children and cashing in on a new film being out, it is actually rather good! The game itself reminds me of Mario Kart in the fact that you get powerups to shoot at your opponents and it is mayhem from start to finish in any race. There are different types of "matches" to do with race being the obvious and there is an especially fun one called Hunter, where you chase other cars and destroy them to continue playing the level (this actually reminds me of Burnout). If you like achievements, the achievements are not hard at all and you can complete the achievements in not much time but the gameplay of this game is so fun and enjoyable the I highly recommend buying this, even if you are just getting it for achievements, and keeping it as you never know when us XBox guys might need a Mario Kart fix....

Great fun for all the family!!
Overall Cars 2 is an extremely enjoyable title with plenty of missions/races to be completed. An excellent feature is the ability to play through the missions in multiplayer and be able to receive achievement points for both players within this. The gameplay is fast and furious but is very easy to get used to with any ages being able to jump in and play without any difficulty. Huge selection of cars from the film franchise with lots of different looks to be unlocked. One draw back is that there is not much of a story to the game and you find yourself just racing a lot of the time. The older Cars games do have an edge in the story department but all in all the game will put a smile on your face and give the achievement seeking gamers a relatively straight forward 1000G.
