Bulletstorm Epic Editon for Xbox 360 Includes:

  • Early access to the Gears of War 3 public beta
  • 25,000 in-game experience points
  • Visual upgrades to the leash weapon

A brand-new and unique First Person Shooter IP from the teams that brought you Gears of War and Painkiller. Epic Games, People Can Fly and Electronic Arts present Bulletstorm™, an over-the-top shooter that introduces signature ‘kill with skill' gameplay.

Set in a futuristic utopia, an elite peacekeeping force thwarts the rumblings of civil war. But deception within the ranks has caused two members of the most feared unit, Dead Echo, to strike out on their own.

Now washed-up mercenaries turned space pirates, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato's latest quest for a quick buck goes south. Stumbling upon their ex-commander's warship, the Ulysses, Grayson engages this behemoth head-on. Outmanned and outgunned, his only option is to ram the Ulysses in a suicidal bid at redemption.

Narrowly surviving a crash landing and now stranded on the abandoned paradise planet of Stygia, Grayson and Ishi find themselves surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh-eating gangs. They survive on two objectives: get off the planet alive and exact revenge on the man who sent them there.

Taking the role of Grayson Hunt, wield over-the-top combat moves and some of the most uniquely innovative weapons ever seen in a first person shooter that all feed into Bulletstorm's™ distinct ‘skillshot' system for unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay. Unleash the Bulletstorm™!

Bulletstorm Features:
  • Incredible New "Skillshot" System: Combine outrageous gunplay with Bulletstorm's™ unique kick, slide and leash mechanics as you Kill with Skill. Every enemy presents a new opportunity for stylish, over-the-top and ever increasingly bloody ways to take them down.
  • The Circle of Awesome: Kill with skill to rack up the points. Cash in these points for upgrades. Use these upgrades to pull off even bigger and better "skillshots" and earn even more points… Bulletstorm's™ upgrade system truly is a circle of awesome that rewards players who kill in the most creative ways.
  • Badass Weaponry: From your trusty Peace Maker Carbine to the explosive Flail Gun, Bulletstorm™ delivers an arsenal of the most inventive, death-dealing weapons ever seen that truly put the fun back into the First Person Shooter.
  • A Pulp Sci-Fi Adventure: Featuring a script by the acclaimed Marvel Comics writer Rick Remender (The Punisher), Bulletstorm™ takes you on a journey filled with plot twists and turns from betrayal to revenge and ultimately redemption.
  • A Dangerous Planet of Forgotten Paradise: Travel from scorched deserts to tropical forests and an adult playground resort on a beautifully realized paradise defiled, delivered by the power of the Unreal Engine.
  • Gamers are to be given the chance to try out the brand-new shooter Bulletstorm via an online demo launching later this month.

From January 25th 2011 onwards, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download a free trial version of Epic Games and People Can Fly's intense action game, while PlayStation 3 owners can do so the following day.

The demo takes place on the beautiful but deadly planet Stygia and sees protagonist Grayson Hunt take on hordes of enemies using weapons such as the Peace Maker Carbine assault rifle and the grenade-chain-firing Flail Gun.

It will introduce players to key gameplay mechanics such as the Skillshot system, which provides extra points for the most creative and over-the-top kills.

In addition, it features a preview of the full game's Echo mode, which tracks players' scores and progress through the single-player campaign and compares them with those of other online gamers.

Bulletstorm launches next month and will receive special edition releases, with the Xbox 360-only Epic Edition providing owners with exclusive early access to the beta trial of the hotly-anticipated Gears of War 3.

  • Ready, Aim, FIRE!

You're a space mercenary, one of the roughest, toughest guys in the galaxy, but even the best can have a little bad luck now and then. So you've crash-landed on an alien planet - a real nasty one too. It's a former tourist trap gone bad, and by bad we mean killer vegetation, hundreds of murderous goons clogging the streets, and about a bajillion bullets between you and your escape plan.

Can you get off this stupid rock, transport your buddies to safety and get revenge on the man who put you here? Oh yeah, and can you do it with style, too?

That's Bulletstorm's plot: escape, and kill as many people as you can in the process. You'd expect nothing less from a collaboration between the developers that made Painkiller and Gears of War, of course.

But Bulletstorm isn't just one of the greatest shooters we've played in years - it's an ingenious action game that rewrites all the rules. It's about dealing out punishment and looking good while you do it. Is it a blast? Absolutely!

    Unleash chaos!

Bulletstorm's brilliance lies with its Skillshot system: a system that sees you rewarded with points for finishing off the bad guys in as inventive a way as possible. Simply gunning someone down won't do the business here. To score big, try kicking them off a cliff, setting them on fire, or squishing them under something heavy.

The more points you get, the more you get to unlock of the game's crazy arsenal. Like shotguns? How about a shotgun with four barrels? Like sniper rifles? How about one with bullets you can steer around corners?

Alongside the guns, you'll also learn to let rip with a devastating electrical leash, perfect for yanking baddies out of cover or pulling choppers down out of the sky. Combine that will an awesome slide move, that allows you to kick enemies into slow-motion tumbles, and you're a force to be reckoned with. Get ready for hectic action, ear-splitting firefights, and amazing one-liners. Bulletstorm has it all.

    You're the boss

The fun doesn't stop there, of course. Bulletstorm's gadgets may be fun to mess around with, but the game's explosive campaign is one of the best FPS gauntlets we've ever run, throwing in new ideas every ten minutes, sticking you in the middle of some seemingly inescapable situations, and layering on huge bosses that rank amongst some of gaming's most memorable. The world is beautiful to look at, the set-pieces are amazingly inventive, and the pace of the action is simply relentless.

That's not all. Once you're through with that slice of epic mayhem, you can replay the meatier parts of the campaign broken down into little nuggets of fun. This is Echo mode, and it's like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit with guns, as you fight to beat your online friends for the highest score, maximising each run through the danger zone.

On top of that, there's Anarchy, too, which sees you and three friends facing off against waves of increasingly nasty enemies. The aim here isn't just to stay alive, but to hit a score target with each wave, and it really forces you to hone your skills, teaming up for elaborate Skillshots, and using every element of your arsenal - guns, feet, leash - to maximum effect.

It all adds up to a game that you won't soon forget. Bulletstorm will deafen you, dazzle you, shake your bones and rattle you until you can barely hold a controller. But most of all, it will bring you back for more: one more race through the campaign, one more assault on that high score table. If you like your shooters big and bold, this, then, is the game for you.

  • It wasn't so long ago that EA announced it was ditching its unpopular Online Pass system, which required players buying a preowned game to pay an additional fee to access multiplayer features or other in-game content.

"As we discontinue Online Pass for our new EA titles, we are also in the process of eliminating it from all our existing EA titles as well," the publisher told Eurogamer. "We heard the feedback from players and decided to do away with Online Pass altogether."

Apparently the change will be seen first in some EA Sports games, with the Online Pass prompt quietly vanishing. For other games, the Online Pass will remain but will be downloadable for free. The process is expected to take several weeks until all Online Pass content is available to everyone.

Already, the Online Pass for games such as Battlefield Bad Company 2, Skate 3, Bulletstorm, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Medal of Honor and Shift 2 Unleashed have dropped their price tag. Some exclusive DLC is also free. Dragon Age: Origins' The Stone Prisoner, Dragon Age 2's Black Emporium and Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Network Pass are now available at no cost, regardless of whether you have an original code. The downloadable version of American McGee's Alice, which was packed-in with Alice: Madness Returns, is also free of charge but needs the Madness Returns disc to run.

So if you've been holding off on picking up any of these games preowned, now's the time to swoop!
