Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War Product Details

Released on 02/11/2007

Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War puts Xbox 360 gamers in the role of a rogue commander and gives them direct control of mercenary units in fierce clashes with English and French forces. The game’s unique style of action thrusts players into dynamic and ever-changing conflicts. Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War Players must adjust their strategies as skirmishes evolve, and then deploy the unit best-suited to handle the challenge. At the command of Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War players is a broad array of troops including infantry, archers, and cavalry, as well as a variety of specialised units such as elephant units, cannoniers, and castle siege specialists. While each unit in Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War is comprised of autonomous soldiers, each warrior will contribute to the assigned objective.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War
I dont know about this being close to Kessen as I've never played a Kessen game. However, I do know that this is remarkably close to the original Kingdom Underfire games on the original Xbox. But instead of having to jump from unit to unit you take direct control of any unit type you have the required skills for. Unit and player character skills can be increased in a way simlar to Kingdom Underfire and equipment purchased is used by the units under your control also. To look at the game is not going to win any awards but visually its adequate, the controls are easy, though you might want to invert the vertical camera control. It's an enjoyable game with a decent historical based story line. It's just such a big shame that unlike the original Kingdom Underfire this has no multiplayer whatsoever. A co-op campaign would have made this a real treat.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War
i played this game around my friends house and became so addicted he had to prise the controller form my grip. i absolutley had to buy this game and thats exactly what i did! i've had the game since xmas 2007 and have not yet been dissapointed by any part of the games performance apart from its lack of Xbox Live capabilities.

Its a good game, quite addictive, its great to see how the map changes over time, the graphics are dated but if you can look past that then you in for a treat!
