Another Code: R Product Details

Released on 26/06/2009

At the end of her summer holiday, 16 year old Ashley, an aspiring musician, receives an invitation from her father, Richard, who has always been curiously distant towards his daughter. He has been absent as he took over from Ashley’s mother to work tirelessly on a memory control system known only as “Another,” the cause of her mother’s untimely death.

In an effort to cement their bond following his protracted disappearance – Richard left Ashley to be brought up by her aunt – father and daughter are to spend a weekend together at Lake Juliet, a camping resort. But, as Another Code R: A Journey into Lost Memories begins to unfold, Ashley discovers that there are a series of mysteries surrounding Lake Juliet. The intrigue deepens as she realises she has been to this resort before … she has a dim memory of being here just before her mother died 13 years ago.

Players of Another Code R: A Journey into Lost Memories must help Ashley solve a series of clues and puzzles, journeying back into her earliest memories to unlock the past.

The story is played as if in the pages of a mystery novel. Ashley must engage with the other characters to follow up the myriad different trails and clues in order to solve the mystery. Journeying through the story’s digital pages, she will encounter people who clearly know more than they are letting on about the events leading up to her mother’s death, who she will have to interrogate to glean the information she needs.

Players use the Wii Remote to point and click items and characters in the game’s stunningly portrayed watercolour backgrounds, interacting with them as she travels. Ashley is guided through the game’s world by clicking the arrows that tell players where she is able to go. Ashley is assisted in her puzzle solving by her DAS, a portable device with which she can take pictures during the game.

By exploring every corner of the world created by the game, collecting items from across it and by combining their intuition and skills in deduction, players will feel like they are themselves characters in a mystery novel as they unravel the secrets of Lake Juliet, Ashley’s family and ultimately, of Project Another itself.

This was a game where i had to look at the reviws just to see if it was a good choice. And to be honest, it was the best wii game i have ever played. It had a gripping storyline that was thrilling but contrasting to that very emotional, the game is slow like the other reviews but i have to tell you, dont let this put you off. the charecters are great and i wish they were real. I give this 5 stars, hope you get this game. ENJOY :)

Bit of a long winded start but can't stop playing the game now. So much fun and really relaxing finding clues and you way around the campsite. Quietest I have ever known my 7 year old when playing a game. Bring out more games like this one!!!!

I think this game was really good. I enjoyed playing through the gripping, emotional storyline, meeting many new characters along the way. The graphics are lovely and also relate very well to the first game on DS yet are much more 3D and detailed. Many would say there was too much reading in this game but I think there has to be to really get to grips with the story. The puzzles are really clever and push the wii remote to its limits. The game is really an interactive story and it is packed with mystery. The game does relate to the first game in the series 'Another Code: Two Memories' which is also a brilliant game. I give this game 5 stars as I really enjoyed playing it.

A deep, moving storyline and clever puzzles help to make this the best Point & Click game on the Wii, and possibly one of the best ever! Developed by the same company as the first Another Code and Hotel Dusk on DS, this is a must have if you want a good story that will keep you hooked for hours on end.

Best game on Wii if I'm perfectly honest. Loved Another Code Two Memories, and Hotel Dusk on DS (Both from the same developer; Cing). Don't buy it if you're expecting lots of fast action gameplay. It's a slow (but not boring at all), mellow relaxing game with fantastic characters, a great art style, a beautiful atmosphere (Lake Juliet is lush, I want to go there, but alas, it isn't a real place....), a gripping story and a lot of the music is top notch too. I love the main song that plays when you're walking around the main areas by the lake. I WANT AN OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK TO BE MADE AVAILABLE, NOW! Anyway, a lot of effort clearly went into making such a great game, you'd be a fool to not support such effort So go ahead and buy it.
