This only works with newer xbox 360's. I've had my 360 for about 3 years but as it's been replaced twice is effectively 6 months old. My replacement was like for like and doesn't have an HDMI socket. I initially thought the space above the network cable slot was one but no. Check the link by Lee Graham posted on 26 Dec 2008 for the rear connections you MUST have.

Got this for my xbox, works well no problems - never used any other product so can't compare I'm afraid but gives high quality pictures compared to original av cable - used on my boyfriend's xbox.

you should get the proper xbox 360 hdmi cable as it is more reliable. I brought this one and it had sound glitches, and cuts out the sound. So mine was probably a faulty cable
