MotoGP puts the player at the centre of the MotoGP experience by letting them join a team and compete alongside their sporting heroes in all three race classes – 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Good results in qualifying and racing earn points that can then be exchanged for bike upgrades to improve attributes such as straight line speed, braking and cornering.

I was given this or christmas. I'm disappointed with the lack of set up options for the bikes and the dreadful on board camera views. Apart from on the idiot proof 'Arcade' handling setting you do have to be properly careful on the throttle and brakes but apart from that stringing a quick lap together is pretty simple. The games AI is quick and refreshingly well mannered, in most other games everyone seem intent on knocking everyone else off the track rather than racing them. Its a very pretty game, but oddly uninvolved and for that reason I prefer SBK 08

Soooo much better than GP '06 and' 07. Plus the A.I. no longer cheat. It's easyer to race(you don't fall off as often) but still a challenge on the higher levels.Looks great, sounds great, just get it :)

It was quite clear that Black Bean, responsible for the racing engine, flew SBK 08 up the flagpole to see how it would stand up to criticism. I didn't like the hollow, empty feeling of that game but the actual racing and bike handling was fantastic! Black Bean did well. MotoGP 08 feels like the same game as SBK 08 but with polish and more depth, Capcom was prepared to throw more money into MotoGP 08 I guess. The inclusion of the 125cc and 250cc class along with a career mode makes it a worthwhile purchase. The ability to earn bike upgrade points in career mode along with winning new helmet designs adds a feeling of achievement and the challenges mode breaks up the seasons if you want a quick blast. I was a little disappointed to see that there is no podium presentation and it is totally lacking any kind of build up cut sequences, none of this takes away from the action on track though. Finally a MotoGP game worth owning!
