Excellent buy, hd dvd are cheap now (usually under £5). Plus you can use it as a laptop cd drive if you laptop doesn't have one (or if you want to copy stuff from one cd to another). For £12 you can't go wrong

the problems with this product -they dont sell HD dvds anymore -its been out of stock for the last year -buy blu-ray

A real bargin, HD DVDs are thin on the ground, but with a little persistance you can track them down for as little as £5 each. The product itself is reliable, has fast loading speed ( I have a blu-ray player that takes twice the time to load) and is fairly easy to setup and use. All in all, its a good product and at a great price. And for those who are under the misguided impression that blu-ray is "superior" to HD-DVD, thats false. Their technical specifications are virutally identical, many other posters have correctly observed that HD DVD's failure is due to Hollywood studios backing 'Blu-Ray' due to closer ties with Sony than with Microsoft.

Michael has got it right! blue ray is not superior the quality is the same the only reason HD-DVD lost the format war was because a certain type of film industry backed blue ray and they count for 50% of sales in the USA! That’s the only reason, this HD-DVD drive is great the movies are cheap and the quality is great. Highly recommend it to anyone.
