According to the Guitar Hero support website, Rock Band instruments are only compatible with the new Guitar Hero 5; the are not compatible with Guitar Hero 3 or Guitar Hero World Tour. For anyone interested in getting into the latest versions of the RB or GH games then this is probably cheapest way to buy most of the band kit.

can some one help me i love these music games but I'm having some trouble rock band or guitar hero ive already got guitar hero 3 but i think i should stop for rockband now because it has got more games and a rockband beatles is coming out and i love the beatles and the songs on rock band 2 are amazing! guitar hero is great to. My opinion is rockband but i can still buy some GH games 'cause ive already got the les paul so rockband for me but i am not sure if you can please comment about which one is better RB or GH i will be grateful thankyou.

I've not actually played the game yet, but after looking at some external reviews, I think the Rock Band package is going to be the way forward for me. Yes, so the controllers don't come with the game, but that gives you the freedom to choose between Rock Band and Rock Band 2. I'm told that Rock Band was something of a let down on the Wii, due to certain major features being missing (downloadable content and online play) when compared to the X360 and PS3 versions, however Rock Band 2 promises both of these for the Wii. In addition, the drum kit for GH:WT, the cymbals, while looking cool, are not that responsive and need to be hit right on the centre, rather than at the edges, which detracts from the realism somewhat. One final point: Rock Band + software = saves you about £20, when compared to the alternative.

I haven't played it yet but I have played Guitar Hero World Tour Complete Band (all the instruments) and the information given about Rock-Band and World Tour means that World Tour is a more realistic game with touch sensitive guitar, velocity sensitive drums, bigger and more realistic drum kit and the fact that the Band in a Box doesn't come with the game while guitar hero does, makes the prices similar anyway and seeing as the Rock-Band drum kit has only 5 drums and does not respond differently to how hard you hit the drum I would have to conclude with the fact that Rock-Band is going to be beaten by Guitar Hero World Tour in the long run. Sorry Rock-Band and Rock-Band lovers but there has to be critics in every subject.
