Need for Speed should be about street racing. Remember Underground? Need for Speed Shift is the opposite to this. It's more like touring car racing. If you like that sort of thing, then this is for you. But Need for Speed should be about running from the cops and taking part in some amazing street racing. This game can also be extremely annoying. If say one of your front wheels is slightly off the track, it is quite difficult to get it back on. And then there's the AI. They can be really annoying. They often push you off, ram into you and can block the road ahead. They never seem to knock each other off though. The good thing though is that they do sometimes make mistakes which can sometimes give you an edge. The visual damage of your car is not very impressive but that has never been Need for Speed's forte. If you like street racing games, Shift isn't for you. But if you like track racing games, this is a possible game for you. I give it a 6/10

NFS shift is not as gr8 as all the talk would make u think. I ll admit it looks incredible, but after that its pretty ordinary. The gameplay is ok but at times boring as you speed past the admittably good computer drivers. It is a huge improvement on pro-street and undercover but i think NFS dominance in the racing market is about to end. 7.7/10

The only reason i have this game is that it came with the 250gb slim ps3 bundle, all i can say is that it borderline fails as a "racing" game, real racing means id be getting a time penalty or even disqualified for repeatidly hitting another car, but you get rewarded for it in this game, which is not good at all. This game overall is really worth getting, but only if you are going to play it on the hardest difficulty setting and drive using the cockpit veiw (steering wheel and dashboard view 7/10 = it tried to be something simple that others can do very well and it failed, but its a very nice game on the hardest difficulty and using the cockpit view.
