SummaryProduct Details

In the distant future, massive urban development and pollution have critically damaged the planet. There is widespread fear that the end of the world is approaching. The League corporations, a military superpower, control the planet's infrastructure and have forced most of the world's population to live in huge aerial communities, called Cradles, to avoid the contamination. The ORCA, a rebel resistance still residing on the surface of the polluted planet, have amassed a formidable arsenal and are mobilizing to attack The League's bases to put an end to their iron grip on the planet. As a mercenary armed with cutting-edge military robot technology, choose your side and defeat the other factions by harnessing the power of the deadliest and most gigantic weapons ever created by mankind.

You arent going to get much more action paced than this, of course some people wont enjoy it due to lacking a decent story and being very short but hey it has two player co-op, i suggest finishing the entire game before playing CO-OP otherwise the game will be very very easy. All in all it's an average but still worth a buy if it comes on offer.

I find this game awfu. The mechanics just feel stiff and lifelss, there seems to be no tactical element, just button mashing and the story (and even the title of the game) just make no sense at all. Not even 100th of the depth of the old Mechwarrior games. Frankly aside from the HD resolution this improves nothing on the previous PS2 titles and to me just feels a lot stiffer and less fun.

Best game of the series by a long way (and i've played them all!) The main thing you'll notice is the speed, it makes Z.O.E look slow. Gone are the days of trudging through damp warehouses, shooting stationary tanks. In this game you'll find yourself fighting massive air and ground fortresses, and insanely fast rival Nexts (mechs). The multiple story lines mean huge replay value, with weapons and equipment only unlocked by completing certain missions. For a veteran the editing features are excellant with a collosal quantity of parts. For the beginner the game comes preloaded with loads of default designs, so you can get going straight away. The limits on the boosters have also been reset, so you can fly across entire missions without touching the ground, a huge improvement. And i haven't mentioned the graphics, this looks excellant with massively destructable levels. If the idea of shooting things in a 20 ton robot even pique's your curiosity get this. (just ignore the story line!). A

Brilliant game. Suited to those who like mecha related games. There are several story paths, depending on which missions you choose to do first. Certainly offers a challenge to experienced Armored Core fans, whilst at the same time encouraging to beginners (and people like me who just used cheats throughout the old games lol) The graphics are fantastic, and the game features more parts than ever before. The online capabilities make this game better, particularly if you get good at it, or have friends with the game, so you can have battles together : This kind of game isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if you can master the controls (which are entirely optional), or like piloting advanced tech, then this game is definitely for you!
