SummaryProduct Details

In Persona 3, you’ll assume the role of a high school student, orphaned as a young boy, who’s recently transferred to Gekkoukan High School on Port Island. Shortly after his arrival, he is attacked by creatures of the night known as Shadows. The assault awakens his Persona, Orpheus, from the depths of his subconscious, enabling him to defeat the terrifying foes. He soon discovers that he shares this special ability with other students at his new school. From them, he learns of the Dark Hour, a hidden time that exists between one day and the next, swarming with Shadows. These monsters have been steadily claiming victims aptly nicknamed “The Lost”—people who’ve inexplicably become mindless zombies. Under the supervision of school chairman Shuji Ikutsuki, he joins his new companions in confronting this threat to humanity…

In my opinion - THE best rpg for PS2. The Shin Megami Tensei games dont attract nearly as much attention as they should do, Persona 3 being a perfect example of that. This game boasts a great soundtrack, a brilliant storyline, complex characters, and some pretty snazzy voice acting. While the graphics arent amazing, they are never ugly. And at first the battle system may seem a bit... boring (e.g. the very first battle is only made interesting by the cutscenes) but you'll soon find yourself engrossed in the storyline. One of the unique aspects of this game is the 'Social links' system. By befriending people in your everyday school life, your personas (monsters you fight with) of that persons arcana will grow in strength. You can make best friends and even date girls (why not just do that in real life? xD), this unique idea helps Persona 3 become one of the classics of the PS2, despite its late UK release. Fans, look out for Persona 4!! It MIGHT be released here!!!

Whilst not worth a stunning 5/5, this game is a must for anybody who is beginning to feel a bit jaded with the RPG genre. Unlike the vast majority of rubbish that's churned out under the RPG mantle, Persona3 tells a refreshingly new story and has a revolutionary system that rewards social interaction as well as killing things. The controversy around the Evokers is well deserved; pointing an implement that looks like a gun at one's head and pulling the trigger is a shocking and provocative event in any media, and the writers can't have been ignorant to this fact. When you first see a character preparing to do this in the opening sequence, every gamer out there is thinking 'What the heck is going on here!?'. Still, it's used to powerful effect, and isn't gratuitous or glamorising of suicide. My sole gripe with this beautifully rendered, well thought out and innovative game is its lack of breadth. Worthy of a place on any true RPG fan's shelf, and a must for any SMT fan.

One of the best RPGs of 2008 so far. Persona 3 gives you a totally unique storyline, while at the same time, keeps to a real-life like setting that you can actually relate to. This game is totally education too, anyone who wants to know about Japanese school life, this is just for you ^_^. The game can get rather repetitive every now and then, but hey what RPG does'nt. Fans of Shin Megami Tensei will notice Persona 3 will have quite a few similarities to a previous game of the series, Lucifer's Call, such as the Demon Fusing, and the horrible fact that if your main character dies in battle.....it's Game Over, lol. Other than that, this game will keep you busy for a long time, and who knows, if everything goes good and Atlus are happy, Europe may get the Add-On disc for Persona 3 called Persona 3:FES, giving you an extra 30+ hours of Persona fun, yay! BANZAI!!!

Fantastic and original rpg! The first hour or so is a bit boring with endless text and talking but once this is out of the way and you are free to explore and battle this game really comes into it's own, the battle system is nicely done, you dont controll your partners but their AI is superb and they battle intelligently. Highly recommended!!

Don't pay any attention to the current controversy surrounding this title regarding the game's summoning technique. The technique shows a characters pointing an Evoker at their head & shooting, the Evoker is not a gun & does not involve suicide,it's basically used to summon the characters Persona, that's about it. I've seen worse involved in other games as I'm sure others have to. I've played through most of this game & I find it to be quite enjoyable, fun & another great addition to the Shin Megami Tensei series. If you're familiar to this series then you'll know what to expect with the story,it will keep you interested until the very end. The battle system is more involved than previous SMT titles, even though it's still turn-based,there's better attacks to unleash, including an All-Out-Attack which involves your whole team pouncing on the enemies at one time, this includes some comic-book style animation, which is pretty funny. Excellent RpG & not one to miss out
