Worst shin megami to date, this one in comparison to the others seems a little ... childish so to speak. Yeah it has the whole horror thing going on that the other titles shared but it still lacks in terms of "scare" The monster collecting was very limited and most of the demons shared the same abilities, unlike digital devil saga there was no evolution of your demons, in this you had too sacrifice 2 of your demons to form a new one and or power them up when they reached there level cap.

Pros- A distinctive gameplay, allowing you to freely move your character in battle (meaning you can use a sword and a gun) while giving detailled commands to your demons. The music is spectacular as always and the characters are always odd but so interesting. A rich rewarding story follows. You can also use particular demons to uncover case facts, such as "mind reading" to gain secrets. Cons- The graphics are a let down from the previous titles. Pre-Rendered backgrounds are there for you to control a 3-D character over, also other 3-d citizens are not solid and pass through you. It also seems that every few steps reveals a random battle. Requiring patience at times. This isn't Lucifer's calls or Digitial Devil Saga but it still holds it own. Overall I would reccommend this game, if you like deep stories, interesting new combat systems, RPG's and (not a must) a fan of SMT games.
