A comprehensive AV scart cable that connects your PlayStation 2 console to a television via a scart socket. When using the AV channel of your television, both picture and sound quality are better than if using standard RF aerial connection. The cable is fully wired for RGB gameplay (if your TV supports RGB scart) and a special switch can disable RGB mode so DVD movie playback is unaffected. The cable is also fitted with stereo audio phono plugs (to connect to other audio equipment - which may require more cabling) and a guncon port for compatible light guns or similar peripherals.
TV connection:
Make sure that your TV and console are switched off; plug the PlayStation 2 end of the cable into the back of your PlayStation 2 and plug the scart end into the scart socket of your TV; if your TV has more than one scart socket then connect to the primary scart socket (usually scart socket number 1).
Most TVs will auto switch to the AV scart channel, however some TVs do not have this function and you will need to manually select the AV scart channel on your TV.
For the best quality RGB gameplay move the switch on the scart connector to the "GAME" position. Move the switch to the DVD position when you wish to watch a DVD movie title from your console.
Audio connection:
Connect the two audio phono plugs to the audio input of your audio equipment. If you choose not to connect to audio equipment in this manner sound will still be produced via the TV.
