Shockingly bad. Don't even think about buying this game. I'd give it away, but I'd not want to inflict it on anyone else...

it's good but its not great, the online play is good but the maps can get boring after a while and without having a campaign to the game it can get slow quick. 7/10

A pretty game. It doesn't quite have the pace of the earlier Quake games, but it's reasonable fun. The game is very new-player UNfriendly, it doesn't have much in the way of explanations, guides to the character classes or the missions objectives. The game is not designed for single player at all, and you'll find that single player is only used for learning the maps and learning how to play through trial and error. The other key factor is that Voice-Over-IP is NOT included with the game. To the elitist few this is a blessing as they prefer to use Teamspeak or Ventrilo, but to people trying to get into the game and make friends and contacts this is a complete turn-off. The developers HAVE promised that VoIP will be available in a future patch so I would hold off buying until it has been confirmed, especially since they have not said they are removing voice from the console versions. It's going on the shelf until I see a VoIP patch, but it has potential.
