The Witcher is, essentially, the RPG hardcore gamers have been itching for. The game has all the elements needed to make a classic RPG; deep story, great characters, cool monsters, and enjoyable combat (to name a handful).
The thing that makes Witcher a must-own, though, is that it has clearly been designed by RPG players. The guys at CD Projekt understand what gamers have been asking for, and have delivered in this great game.
The enhanced edition comes with some cool extras and fixes a lot of the issues that were previously in the game. It can still be somewhat unstable, but if you can endure getting it to run smoothly you will be rewarded well.
As a guy who has been seeking a decent RPG after disappointments from the likes of Bethesda and Bio-Ware, I cannot recommend this game enough. The Witcher is a fine example of what a PC RPG should be like.

Although game is full of bugs, you want to play it coz of fantastic story. It's very difficult to make a game which is so interesting, that we just don't bother any problems. Witcher can't jump, we meet many clones of the same person (e.g priests, but in different clothes), running through swamp and killing everytime the same enemies is annoying, running from the edge of one map to another location can take few minutes (again...) but we still want to know how the story will continue. And the most annoying error - game likes to crash to windows (not often, but it happened several times) - so make sure you save your progress every 10 minutes if you decided to switch autosave off. Anyway - buy this game, don't bother bugs - you will enjoy storyline - it is most important thing in rpg, isn't it?

I missed The Witcher game first time around, as reviews were unkind to it, and it left me unsure. However, the Enhanced version was recently reveiwed, and was reccomend as a better version from the origioanl game, and a must have if you missed it, like me, first time around.
I completed it recently, and can confirm it is a top quality RPG, reminds me of NeverwinterN2. The only problems I found are, there is a HUGE load time, when you want to load a save game(at least you have the manuals to read), which lets the game down most. The main characters are unique looking, but the rest of the world characters are pretty much clones of the same several designs(nothing too bad). Finally, this is an adult 18 game, so the language is VERY strong, and some pornographic art.
Happily however, everythingelse works great. The story is awsome & I really enjoyed it. There are at least 3 different endings too, depending on your game choices. The game manual is excellent. 5/5 Reccomended.
