RE: Scott Feltham and anyone else having the same problem. You will need auto-run working on your DVD drive for it to work once you have inserted the DVD, if auto-run is not turned on then goto Start Menu --> My Computer and Right-Click on the DVD drive and it should come up in the menu Auto-Run or sometimes you can just Double-Left Click on the DVD drive and it will auto run. Scott Feltham, as you have a laptop on Vista then the game should work as you have a pretty new system, but I'm not shaw Maxis guarantee's it will work on all laptops and also you will already have a built-in graphic's / video card otherwise you wouldn't see the screen at all. Otherwise, apart from some having problems, this is a great game and once you start playing it you won't want to get off it, and if you want new stuff for your house or anything just head over to The Sims 2 website where you can download loads more stuff for free.

We too have experienced problems with installing the game onto a latop (Sony Vaio - Windows Vista). In actual fact, nothing happens when we insert the disc!? Can anyone help / provide some guidance on where we're going wrong? I've noted some of the earlier comments that we might need to build-in a video card, although I'm not convinced that that's going to resolve the problem. My main concern surrounds the fact that nothing whatsover happens when we insert the disc. Any ideas, anyone? Debbie Pool, can you expand on your earlier comment that you need to check the laptop spec? Thanks in advance
