06.11.2009

Fans of gaming franchise Assassin's Creed will no doubt have watched the first instalment of the three-part short movie series based on the title that debuted last month.

According to developer Ubisoft, 1.7 million people tuned in to YouTube to watch the first airing of Assassin's Creed: Lineage on the internet on October 27th 2009.

Not only was it the most viewed video on the website during the 24 hours after its release, it also garnered more comments than any other You Tube clip.

Commenting on the series, an Ubisoft spokesperson said: "Assassin's Creed: Lineage combines live action and computer generated imagery to explore the events that happen just before the Assassin's Creed 2 game starts."

People hoping to get their hands on the game should consider watching the videos soon as it is set to hit shelves towards the end of November and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DSi.
