In-game sneak preview for Hearts of Iron III
23.04.2009
PC gamers eager to catch a glimpse of the hotly-anticipated third instalment of Hearts of Iron III could sate their appetites by visiting YouTube.
Developers of the game Paradox Interactive have given fans a taster of what to expect when the World War II strategy game finally hits shops towards the end of the year.
Although the game is still in the Beta stage of development, the in-game footage 'The Arsenal of Democracy' is expected to impress.
Not only is the development team working to upgrade the PC game's artificial intelligence and boost the overall mechanics, they have also introduced a string of new features.
The game map is set to be much bigger than the previous Hearts of Iron instalment, boasting more than 14,000 land and sea provinces of the United States, where the wartime game is set.
Previously, Hearts of Iron II was released on the PC in 2005 to much critical acclaim. It takes place between 1936 and 1947, in which the player is enabled to assume the role of any of the 175 nations affected, by strategising, arming and deploying military manoeuvres.
