My Wish List

Q: What is a Wish List?
A: A Wish List is a personal area of the website where you can save a list of your favourite GAME products.

Q: What would I use it for?
A: You can simply use to remind you of items you are interested in.
A: You can use it to compile a list of favourite games, to compare with your friends.
A: You can use it as a way of letting friends and family know about ideas for gifts.
A: You can also rank the items in your list and add comments for friends to read.

Q: Do I need to be registered to create a Wish List?
A: Yes. If you are not logged in, then whenever you click any of the links to the Wish List you will be asked to Login, or Register if not already a registered customer.

Q: How do I add items to my Wish List?
A: When you are browsing the website, and looking at an individual item, you will see a button marked "Add to Wish List" which when clicked, adds that item to your Wish List. A newly added item is shown at the top of your Wish List by default.

Q: Is my Wish List private – or can everyone see it?
A: Your Wish List is private by default, but you can choose to make it visible to your friends by selecting this option in the Preferences box on the Wish List page. If you do choose to make it visible to friends then everyone you have added to your Contact List will be able to see it in the drop down box at the top of their Wish List page. Simply select "List is visible to my contacts" in the visibility settings on the Wish List page.

My Friends' Wish Lists

Q: What is a Friend’s Wish List?
A: This is a Wish List made by one of your friends.  You can see it by selecting it from the dropdown menu of Wish Lists shown at the top of the content area under the page title.

You will only be able to select and view a Friend’s Wish List if they have elected to make their list visible to friends and also included you in their list of contacts. Of course the same is true of your own Wish List – your friends can view it if you have made it visible to them and included them in your Contacts List.

Q: What is the Mailing List?
A: This is a list of the names and email Addresses of your friends.

Q: What is the Mailing List for?
A: The Mailing List has two uses – both of which are used exclusively with the Wish List feature and can only be accessed from there.

The first is that you can choose to send emails to selected people from your Mailing List, to inform them about your Wish List - perhaps as a reminder that you have birthday soon! The email that is sent is generated by GAME. It automatically includes a link to the website to allow the recipients to view your Wish List.

The second function of the Mailing List is that it defines all the people who can view your Wish List when they browse the website.  However, they can only see your list if you have set it to be visible to friends, and if they are registered and logged in.

You can of course, manage this Mailing List of friends by adding new contacts, editing existing details or removing them from the list.

Sharing Your Wish List with your Friends

Q: What is the email sent to friends?
A: This is an email which informs the people you selected about your Wish List. This facility can only be accessed from the Mailing List page and serves a single purpose; it can’t be used as a general email tool.

The message that is sent is already constructed for you and contains a link back to the website to allow the recipients to view your Wish List.

Here you can select one of your saved delivery addresses to inform the recipients where you would like gifts sent to.
