SummaryProduct Details

In the summer of 1944, the Second World War entered its end-game when the Allies launched two major operations that would drive back German forces on both the Western and Eastern Fronts at once.

Just finished the game and spent some really exciting hours with it so I would love to share with you my views on “Order of War” title. First off I should I say that I never considered myself an RTS fan (shooters is my passion actually). That’s probably why I was advised to try namely this game. And yes, the absence of head racking micromanagement, production and recharging was what I greatly appreciated in this game. OOW is all about dynamism. It doesn’t mean of course that you don’t have to think while completing the missions, but you can focus completely on annihilating your enemy as all management stuff was already done by developers. That is why “Order of War” is really warlike, all about vanquishing the enemy. The number of forces you command is limited to several units, so there’s no need to babysit each your soldier or tank. The game is just beautiful, battles are very massive-scale and look impressive. Cut scenes between the missions are very eye catchy and cinematic camera

Bought about a week ago and here’s what I think. First of all, I liked the scale. You have lots of troops on the battlefield simultaneously (in one of my multiplayer battles the stats screen said that I had deployed >1,5K infantry, >250 tanks, > 130 guns, >30 aircrafts) - that makes you feel Patton Jr., at least. Secondly, the graphics. I have pretty much experience of playing RTS games, but every time I started one I never forgot that I was playing and that it is just a game and nothing more. Here I was so hipped on what is there on the screen that sometimes it seemed to me that I was watching a new epic war movie. The cinematic camera mode here is something second to none, really! And the coolest thing for me is the reality of what is going on. I mean the historical correspondence. I’ve read a lot to the topic of WWII and I should say that I never expected such detail accuracy in the mere entertaining product. All the missions are based on real operations that actually t
