SummaryProduct Details

An accidental hero finds himself on a remote tropical paradise, where a madman plays God; engineering various species of enhanced creatures to replace what he believes is a genetic dead-end… mankind. The game is set around 2020 on a set of tropical islands in the pacific. And has a strong tropical-paradise feel, scenic in its beauty, but, harbors a terrible threat. It is a mix of jungle / primal / and next-gen technology. As the player you find yourself drawn into a secretive plot involving secret research facilities with scientists involved in military genetic-research, a secret "security" force of mercenaries, and, advanced net-generation weaponry and equipment.

Farcry is one of the most notable shooters around and well worth a look. But be warned, its HARD. This is not a simple run and gun game. Do that and you will die lots and lots, instead its all about careful , thoughtful approaches to combat and perfecting the art of ambush that will win out in the end. I recall that some of the boss battles were so hard it was almost unfair, but persevere. One major black mark is the last level of the game. It just didn't have the quality of the rest. Still a worthy purchase though.

At first i didnt think much of it as i was running on a geforce 4 series at the time but i recently got a new computer and its great for the price (cheap thrill seekers must buy)

Runs easily maxed out on any modern graphics cards, a bit dated now but still a great game to play. I recently re-installed this on my sons pc for him to play and have found myself getting into it again despite having a plethora of new games to play on my own pc! It's a must have for any FPS fan and the multiplayer is great as well.

This game deserved a spot on the list of best fps's of all time. The graphics may be a bit lagging at times because there is so much detail, but the gameplay is the heart of this game. The ability to go anywhere at anytime, traverse to any detail far off in the distance, and use of realistic tactics make this game a must play. Here are the pros of the game: - Wildlife can be interacted with (boars act realistically) - First level, training, built around believable obstacles that help player quickly learn the controls without departing from the action - Vehicles are fun to drive because there are a lot of bumps, also- any vehicle can be controlled at any time ( I was able to shoot down an enemy boat early on in the game...it wasn't supposed to be accessed until later on - Best use of atmospheric lighted interiors I've seen in a game - lights become smaller as you get closer- also, lights can be shot and cast real time shadows -Events are not same every time - in one instance an
